"UK domain registrar 123-Reg crashes and burns, taking its customers with it"

Failures happen, but the collapse of the entire service is annoying so say the least. No domain names, no web site, no email, no support access, no nothing. Not even an explanation.

Two important lessons:

1. Don't go with cheap people, even if they are well established.
2. Set multiple name servers, at different companies.

If I had checked, I would have found a 100% service uptime promise. That's impossible...
