Tackling the Unix Command Line Course

This course provides a hands on approach to using the Unix-style command line system, Bash. Through the course you will gain experience manipulating files and using popular Unix utilities for a variety of tasks.

This course is taught using Bash, and it is therefore applicable to Linux as well.

Downloads

A Linux server will be used for this course, so there is no need to install Linux. Participants will need to install a working SSH client, a SCP client and ensure that the Wifi connection in the laptop can be configured.

• PuTTY - Recommended SSH software for Windows. No installation required.
• WinSCP - Recommended SCP file transfer software for Windows.
• Mac OSX normally ships with the ssh client installated. Just open terminal and type 'ssh' followed by Enter. If this does not work, then contact me.
