Train Project
This section describes my undergraduate project, undertaken in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Essex in early 2007, because some people have shown interest. I built a model railway, which was based on a radio network with independant CPU-controlled trains and signals. The code was written from bottom up in C, implementing a 4-layer network model on a Cyan eCog1k platform with RadioMetrix wireless modems. The project aimed to make the trains and signals intelligent, paving the way for further automation research. Ultimately the project did work, but lacked junctions and train localisation features.
